The Chinmaya Mission Pledge
We stand as one family, bound to each other, with love and respect. We serve as an army, courageous and disciplined, ever ready to fight against, all low tendencies and false values, within and without us. We live honestly the noble life of sacrifice and service, producing more than what we consume, and giving more than what we take. We seek the Lord’s Grace to keep us on the path of virtue, courage and wisdom. May Thy grace and blessings flow through us to the world around us. We believe that the service of our country is the service of the Lord of Lords, And the devotion to the people is the devotion to the Supreme Self. We know our responsibilities, give us the ability and the courage to fulfill them. OM TAT SAT For explanation on Pledge, read |
Chinmaya Mission, Noida The foundation stone for Chinmaya Mission, Noida, was laid in 1997 by H.H. Swami Tejomayananda. Since then the mission has been catering to the spiritual needs of the people of Noida and the neighboring areas. The Noida centre is presently running under the able guidance of Brahmachari Govind Chaitanya. He is also the Director, North Zone, for the Chinmaya Yuva Kendras and coordinates the activities of CHYK in this Zone. There are Bal Vihar classes for senior children (ages 11-14) and for the juniors ( ages 6-10). The course content includes storytelling, bhajans, shloka chanting, drama and so on. In order to develop the artistic, innovative and creative instincts of the children and to give them a platform to showcase their talents, the Bal Vihar regularly conducts several inter class and inter Bal Vihar competitions. Regular activities and outings are also organized to inculcate in children a greater sensitivity towards the environment, towards those less privileged, and also towards the aged. All festivals are celebrated with lots of fun and frolic. An annual family picnic as also a three or four day residential camp are some of the highlights of the Noida Bal Vihar. Bal Vihar kids, apart from imbibing good values also grow into confident, caring and courageous young people! The Youth Wing, under the dynamic guidance of Br. Govind Chaitanya, organizes discussions, workshops and other activities in the neighborhood schools, colleges, and management & technical institutes. They address a wide range of issues from personal development and career planning to complete life management. In the regular classes conducted at the mission centre, the youth learn the art of good living, proper planning, event management, public speaking and the art of maintaining harmonious interpersonal relationships. This ensures that they develop a positive and winning attitude in all spheres of life! For the Elders, there are regular weekly scriptural classes conducted at the centre by Brahmachari Govind ji. Regular jnana yagnas enable the young and old alike to listen to a variety of discourses on various texts of Vedanta. These are conducted by several senior Acharyas who periodically visit from all over India. Festivals and special occasions are celebrated by elder members of the mission with bhajans, special yagnas and pujas. The elders get a rare opportunity for self development in both the social and spiritual planes. The Chinmaya Mission center at Noida is, therefore, a place where the young and old gather as one big family not only to enjoy and celebrate but also to support each other to face the challenges of life, to develop right understanding and universal love.
