Evergreen messages by
Swami Chinmayananda

The day you take up the policy of giving love instead of demanding it - that day you will have rewritten your entire future destiny.

The Chinmaya Mission Pledge
We stand as one family,
bound to each other,
with love and respect.

We serve as an army,
courageous and disciplined,

ever ready to fight against,
all low tendencies and false values,
within and without us.

We live honestly the noble life of
sacrifice and service,

producing more than
what we consume,

and giving more than what we take.
We seek the Lord’s Grace
to keep us on the path of
virtue, courage and wisdom.

May Thy grace and blessings flow
through us to the world around us.
We believe that
the service of our country

is the service of the Lord of Lords,
And the devotion to the people is
the devotion to the Supreme Self.
We know our responsibilities,
give us the ability and the
courage to fulfill them.

Swami Nikhilanandaji at World Economic Forum Annual Meeting
At Davos-Klosters, Switzerland 26-30 January 2011

We indeed are very proud that our Acharya Swami Nikhilanandaji has been invited by the World Economic Forum (WEF) to participate in the Faith Leaders Meeting.
For over four decades the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting has provided an unrivalled platform for leaders from all walks of life to shape the global agenda and catalyse solutions at the  start of each year generating insight on what has changed fundamentally and anticipating the risks and opportunities that lie ahead.
The Annual Meeting 2011 will convene under the theme Shared Norms for the New Reality. This theme reflects the foremost concern of many leaders today – namely, living in a world that is becoming increasingly complex and interconnected and, at the same time, experiencing an erosion of common values and principles that undermines public trust in leadership as well as future economic growth and political stability.
Participation in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting is by invitation only and limited to Spiritual and Cultural leaders; Chief Executives global Businesses; Politicians from G20 countries and over 30 Heads of States and Government etc.
Swamiji’s agenda includes several interesting brainstorming sessions and workshops. The topics for the main sessions are:
‘A New Values Framework for New Realities’, as values come into vogue, there is a call for new, more value-driven paradigms that are mindful of both wealth and well-being. On which values should shared norms be based and how can we build values driven organizations, nations and communities. This workshop session will engage participants in an interactive process to share best practices, identify key challenges and design new tools to put values into practice. The other session is ‘The Faith Factor: Religion’s Role in addressing Global Trends and Challenges’. An estimated 80% of the world’s population claims allegiance to a religion. What is the role and responsibility of religion, faith and values in guiding our responses to current global challenges and developments? The question will be explored by experts and in group discussions in this highly interactive workshop across the following dimensions: Faith and Health; Green Faith; Religion, Peace and Conflict; Spirituality in a Socially-networked World; Faith-based Humanitarianism and Religion’s role in the Classroom.

We look forward to hearing Swamiji’s experiences on his return.
